Viña MontGras, in Chile’s Colchagua Valley, was established in 1992 by brothers Hernán and Eduardo Gras, together with their partner Cristián Hartwig. The fruit of a mission to produce estate-grown wines of exceptional quality and originality, the MontGras estate today encompasses nearly 500 acres planted to vine in the heart of Chile’s wine-producing region. Since the first harvest in the early 1990s, MontGras wines have earned over 200 medals and awards worldwide, garnering international critical acclaim. The Reserva Range reflects the MontGras philosophy, passion, and skill in showcasing each wine’s unique terroir
WINEMAKING & VINTAGE NOTESGrapes are hand-harvested during the last weeks of April. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After maceration, 50% of wine is aged for eight months in French and American (50/50) oak barrels.
TASTING NOTESDeep crimson red color with blackberry and plums framed by mocha, vanilla and cedar. This wine has structure, depth and fine texture with currant and black cherry fruit notes. Flavors of toast and mocha round out the lingering finish. Serve with red meats, game, hearty stews, rich pasta entrées, pork tenderloin and hard cheeses.
